I recently had the pleasure of welcoming military personnel from the 51 Port Squadron of the 17 Port & Maritime Regiment of the Royal Logistic Corps to Parliament.
The Squadron are based at the McMullen Barracks in Marchwood and provide Port and Maritime Capability for the UK Armed Forces. The unit deploys around the world on operations and is a key part of our versatile and professional military which can deploy anywhere in the world to keep our nation safe.
I was pleased to receive a plaque from the Regiment and to show them around the Palace of Westminster, sharing the history of the iconic building and to discuss how decision making and democracy works here in the UK.
