I was delighted to visit the National Oceanography Centre (NOC) recently to learn about the incredible research underway there. I met with Emre Mutlu (part of the Marine Robotics team) and Professor Ed Hill, CEO of NOC. They introduced me to Isis ROV which is a remotely operated vehicle used to gather information in some of the world’s deepest oceans.
Surprisingly, even in 2021, large parts of the world’s oceans are a mystery to scientists and researchers. The internationally significant work of NOC is helping us to learn more every day about marine life and the earth’s surface. We are so lucky to have this incredible facility in Southampton and I’m grateful to them for sharing their expertise with me.
