Local family business adapts to provide vital PPE equipment…
This week I was invited to visit Polystar Plastics in Northam. This is a family business and it was a pleasure to meet the founder Jasbir.
They have been working very hard during the lockdown to adapt their factory to produce PPE. They brought in new production lines and have produced hundreds of millions of vitally needed aprons.
These Southampton made aprons have provided about 80% of the aprons used by the NHS across the UK. I was also able to discuss with them opportunities for recycling plastics. They invited me to see their plastic recycling facilities and it is great to see the work they do to produce new plastics out of recycled plastic.
