It was a pleasure to welcome our 1000th visitor to Parliament recently. David and Jane Goyder were given a tour of the House of Commons, Lords, the Royal Gallery and Westminster Hall before watching Prime Minister’s Questions from the gallery.
I presented them with a bottle of House of Commons Champagne to mark the occasion. Mr and Mrs Goyder thoroughly enjoyed their tour. Mr Goyder said: “I am honoured to be Royston 1000th visitor to the House of Commons, and to meet him in the Great Hall. I am very grateful for a once in a life time experience.”
I have been encouraging his constituents to visit the Palace of Westminster since I was elected and it’s brilliant to have reached this milestone. The Palace is a beautiful building, steeped in history, and home to priceless works of art.
