During the snow last week I was criticised by some people who felt I shouldn’t point out our Labour Council’s failure to prepare for the bad weather by not filling grit bins. The people who criticised me claimed the bins were not filled because of Government cuts which of course is nonsense. So, it will be interesting to hear from those same people, who blame Government cuts for everything, if they think spending thousands of pounds of taxpayers money in this way is more important than filling pot holes, supplying grit, keeping respite centres open or emptying our bins.
That’s interesting I didn’t realise they had been on a “jolly”. Typical of their wastefulness.
Another way they have decided to fill their pockets is by fleecing the residents of Pleasant View sheltered housing in Orpen Road by making us pay £11.46 per week!! for gas heating and hot water. They are no longer going to read the meters, they are making us pay this all year with nothing back if we don’t use that amount.
How are they allowed to do this? no comercial company would be allowed to.
We were paying £5.00 per week for gas and are £277.00 in credit.
We are happy to pay for gas used but why should we pay for what other people use, what they are charging is more than the big six would charge.
With increases in rent and council tax plus this new charge we are £48.98 per month worse off. Stupidly we worked all our lives and so get no help.
Can you look into this perhaps it would help a lot of people. Pleasant View is not the only place affected.
Thank you for your time.
