This morning I met with the Parliamentary Under Secretary of State for Children and Families, Nadhim Zahawi, to gain assurances that no child who currently receives free school meals in Southampton or elsewhere will lose them. He confirmed that it is the case and condemned the scurrilous and disingenuous claims made by Labour which do nothing more than alarm families.
