Whatever our troubles they are mostly nothing compared to what happened to dozens of innocent people last night. The attack in Manchester on innocent men, women, and most cruelly of all, children was carried out by an individual who felt his life was worthless and in his twisted mind felt other people’s lives were as worthless as his. They weren’t. They were decent people. They didn’t deserve what happened to them. They did nothing wrong and each and everyone of them are better than the murderer who carried out this heinous crime.
Today we are mourning. The families who lost their loved ones last night will live with this for the rest of their lives. We are all heartbroken for them.
Once more we witnessed the very best from our uniformed services. Again they acted with the professionalism, dedication and selflessness that we have come to expect from them. They are the very best of us and the murderer the very worst.
When people say we are not scared they misunderstand. We are scared. I am scared but we cannot and will not give in to fear and terrorism. We are better than that. We are better and stronger than the murderous barbarians who incite, plan or carry out these attacks.
We will continue to stand together against those that wish us harm and our way of life will prevail.
