Amongst a very positive Conservative Party Manifesto, I was disappointed to see that it included a free vote on fox hunting.
This was discussed in Parliament in 2015 and at that time I made my position very clear. I do not agree with either repealing this or any modification of the Hunting Act 2004. I was not alone in that view and I told the government that I would not support any proposals to change the law.
I remain of that opinion. If I am re-elected and this comes before Parliament again I will vote against.
I think that many (if not most) MPs share my view and I do not believe any proposed changes to the current Act would be successful.
Thank you, Mr Smith. I do think this is a mistake on the part of Mrs May and her advisors. I had been convinced I would vote conservative but this completely changed my view of the kind of person she is, and I have now decided to vote against her. For me, this is more important than finance or Brexit, it is about who we are as humans. I also now fear that people with cruelty at heart have more influence than is healthy. I wish you luck in the election.
Thank you you are a truly good man
Hello there,
I have just completed your survey on clean air and driving into town. There was no place for comment and I would like to add a question: Has SCC ever considered a Park & Ride? it would solve many problems.
It would of course mean that the bus services would have to be much improved, I live on Route 9Red and the bus comes only every 20mn and stops in town. If I wish to go to the General Hospital I have to take 2 buses, the same for the Central station.
That quality of service does not encourage using the buses, which in turn leads to a reduction in services ……..
Thank you for your interest.
Kind regards
