Today the United Kingdom will have a new Prime Minister. Theresa May is a hugely experienced politician and the longest serving Home Secretary of modern times.
During the recent referendum on our membership with the EU Theresa May was on the remain side however, her first words as Leader of the Conservative Party and Prime Minister elect were, “Brexit means Brexit.”
She will unite those that want to leave the EU and those who voted to stay. But more importantly she will continue to deliver the Conservative manifesto that we were elected on just over 12 months ago.
I very much look forward to serving under Theresa’s leadership and pay tribute to our outgoing Prime Minister, David Cameron, who has achieved so much for our country in his 11 years as party leader and six years as Prime Minister.
