April is Bowel Cancer Awareness Month. It is our annual opportunity to raise awareness of bowel cancer – the UK’s second biggest cancer killer.

This Bowel Cancer Awareness Month, to mark the 10 year anniversary of the Bowel Cancer Screening Programme, I am encouraging everyone of screening age (60+) to get screened.

Screening is the best way to detect bowel cancer early, when there is the best chance of survival. Nearly everyone will survive if bowel cancer is diagnosed in the earliest stage of the disease. So it is vital that we get the message out during Bowel Cancer Awareness Month that taking the screening test is easy and could save your life.
